It is hoped that the Rites of Sacrifice Ceremony will continue to be a platform for strengthening relationships among the community, aside from instilling a spirit of mutual assistance, concern and social responsibility towards the needy.
Such a ceremony was held by the Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, UNISSA. The sacrificial meat was distributed by Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, Rector of UNISSA to the poor and destitute recipients in the Mukim Keriam area and UNISSA community.
The Rites of Sacrifice Ceremony was also organised by the Islamic Da'wah Centre. The sacrificial meat was distributed by Awang Haji Ahmad Abdussalam bin Haji Abd Rahman, Acting Director of the Islamic Da'wah Centre to selected new converts.
In conjunction with Ihya 'Eid Al-Adha, the Seri Begawan Religious Teachers University College, KUPU SB also held a similar ceremony. The distribution of sacrificial meat was officiated by Doctor Haji Abang Hadzmin bin Haji Abang Taha, Acting Deputy RA'ES of KUPU SB.
Meanwhile, the Skim Tanah Kurnia Rakyat Jati, Kampung Lambak Kiri Mosque Takmir Committee held a ceremony to distribute sacrificial meat and present donations to the poor and destitute recipients. The distribution was officiated by Pengiran Muhammad Ameer Mubaarak bin Pengiran Haji Hashim, Acting Brunei Muara District Officer.
A similar ceremony was also held by the Kedayan Malay Association in collaboration with the Kampung Bukit Panggal and Kampung Luagan Dudok Consultative Councils. The distribution was officiated by Awangku Arif Anuar bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad, Acting Tutong District Officer to the poor and destitute asnaf.
Brunei Gas Carriers, in collaboration with the Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam Mosque Takmir Committee and the support of the Kampung Jerudong A and B Consultative Council, also organised the Rites of Sacrifice and Aqiqah ceremony. The sacrificial meat was distributed to the village residents.
Also holding a similar ceremony was the Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque Takmir Committee, Tutong Town. The sacrificial meat was handed over to selected poor and destitute asnaf, participants and the public.
